The implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a complex roll-out of objectives over a multi-year period. JNESO is adapting to the implementation of these objectives. ACA implementation will affect our members and the patient care delivered at the facilities we are located, specifically:
- On-going efforts to enforce Nurse-Patient staffing ratios,
- Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement rates to hospitals –how this might affect the economic bottom line at specific facilities?
- Employer-negotiated contracts, how facilities must now conform to ACA mandated health plans,

Under the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, the federal government can withhold a portion of reimbursement money for hospitals that did not meet standards in 24 categories.
