Sign the petition to save St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic!

Attention JNESO Members:  St. Mary’s Hospital is planning to be acquired by Prime Healthcare Services in order to keep its doors open and continue to provide quality healthcare to the public, as well as employment to over 1,200 people.

Our Union has ratified an agreement with Prime so that our members can become part of this new, more successful chapter in St. Mary’s history.  But before moving forward, the State of New Jersey must approve the acquisition.

 As Union members, you have a powerful voice, support this acquisition by going to the web site to sign the petition. Remember there is strength in numbers so please encourage family and friends to support this very important cause!

Contract distribution continues. If you have not received your contract, please contact your local officer or the JNESO office at 732-745-2776. The Cancellation Workgroup continues to meet and discuss how to avoid the utilization of cancellation.

JNESO Practice Director, Barbara Conklin and your local officers will continue to address this issue with management at subsequent meetings in January 2013.

Voorhees, January 9, 2013 – In light of the Health Care Crisis due to the dramatic increase in numbers of patients, we ask all JNESO members to cooperate and volunteer to work whenever and wherever possible.
 
When working outside your assigned block you must be qualified to perform the duties required in the delivery of care. To assume safety, we encourage you to have received a flu shot and take precautionary measures.
 
Please note the following Critical Shift Bonus and Reassignment Bonus as per the C.B.A. are being offered as an incentive to increase staffing at this critical time:
 
Critical Shift Bonus: CBA Article 43.10 “May be used to address issues of acute vacancies and/or dramatic increases in census. In the event that patient care needs cannot be met with normal staffing methods on a particular unit and shift, the Hospital has the discretion to offer a CSB differential of $17.50 per hour in addition to the employee’s regular compensation rate”.
